Privacy Policy

Last updated

Short version: this site is built to know as little about you as possible. No accounts, no tracking cookies, no ad networks — and the only thing you can ever submit is an email address, voluntarily, for the newsletter.

What we collect

  • Nothing you type into guides or tools. Site search, the eligibility checker, the relief calculator, and the PAS-1 checklist all run entirely in your browser; nothing entered is transmitted to us or anyone else, and it disappears when you leave the page.
  • Standard server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure records basic request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability. Logs are used only for operating the site and are not used to build profiles.
  • Local preferences. Your theme choice (light/dark) and “was this helpful” votes are stored in your own browser’s localStorage. They never leave your device and you can clear them anytime via your browser settings.

Newsletter

Joining the newsletter is voluntary and requires only an email address. The signup form submits your address directly to our external newsletter provider (or, if no provider is configured, opens an email from you to us) — we do not run a mailing server and do not store subscriber lists on this site. Your address is used only to send the updates you asked for; every email includes one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell, rent, or share the list. Unsubscribing removes you at the provider level.

Cookies

We set no tracking cookies. If we ever add privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics to understand aggregate readership, this policy will be updated first.

Email

If you email us via the contact page, we use your address only to reply. We ask you not to send personal information (Social Security numbers, application details); if you do, we delete it. We never sell or share contact information.

Third-party links

Guides link to official government sites (nj.gov and federal resources). Their privacy practices are their own; state application portals in particular have their own identity-verification processes governed by state policy.

Children

The site is general-audience informational content about tax programs and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Questions: help.viewsrd@gmail.com.
