Stay NJ: 2025-Year Payments Expected to Begin February 2027
For seniors filing the 2025 PAS-1 this season, the Treasury's guidance is that Stay NJ payments for the 2025 benefit year are expected to begin around February 2027, subject to state budget appropriations — continuing the quarterly installment pattern established this year.
Meanwhile, the 2024 benefit year's remaining installments continue on schedule: around August 15 and November 15, 2026.
The roughly 14-month gap between the benefit year and its payments is structural, not a delay: Stay NJ is calculated from your final tax bill and your other benefits, which aren't settled until the filing season closes.
